Stephen Colbert has formed a Super PAC (Political Action Committee) to point out the ridiculousness of the Citizens United ruling from the Supreme Court. If the FEC approves it, he could collect unlimited money to do with as he pleases to influence the upcoming election, all without divulging he's the man behind the money (as Karl Rove's group now does).
It was all a funny joke, but now that it could actually happen, people are really starting to get worried about the precedence this could set.
It's a complicated issue, so read the story at the link for further clarification.
I'm just thinking about how devastating political ads could be in the hands of a comedian that doesn't really have a horse in the race. Could be interesting.
